About the Seminar
For our first presentation, Jason Luther will provide an overview on recent trends and developments in the area of State and Local Tax (SALT) in South Carolina. His talk will focus primarily on case law updates regarding appellate and Administrative Law Court decisions involving tax matters litigated by the South Carolina Department of Revenue in the last 12 months, as well as important legislative changes from the past South Carolina legislative session.

Following, Doug O'Neal and Verne McGough will discuss important issues which should be considered before a closely-held business entertains a sale of its equity or assets, followed by an overview of post-election tax and estate planning topics which practitioners should be aware of heading into 2021.
After a short break, Amy Bibby will lead us through a discussion about the most critical issues facing the tax exempt sector today including tax reform and the affects charitable giving, recent regulatory changes affecting the sector, and IRS audit activity & things to watch out for in the coming year.
