The South Carolina Bar Continuing Legal
Education Division and Young Lawyers Division’s Voices Against Violence
Committee presents a one-hour, virtual continuing legal education course on
victim advocacy. The course will define victim advocacy, describe the role of
the victim advocate in South Carolina, and highlight the need for more
attorneys to serve survivors of domestic violence and sexual trauma. The course
will include a moderated panel discussion showcasing a diversity of
perspectives, including a professor of law, in-house counsel from a state-wide
domestic violence organization, and an executive director from a sexual trauma services
non-profit. The course will further target young lawyers, with the hope to
increase attorney awareness and participation in victim advocacy roles.
This program qualifies for 1.0 MCLE credit hour. SC Supreme Court Commission on CLE course number: 215546ADO
