Adam Whitsett is the General Counsel of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.  In that role, he advises SLED on all legal matters, including criminal investigations and civil litigation.  He is a former Assistant Attorney General with the South Carolina Attorney General's Office where he worked in the civil division and represented the State of South Carolina, various state agencies, judges, and other entities on civil and regulatory litigation matters and appeals throughout the state.  Adam has presented at numerous CLEs around the state on various topics, including expungements, FOIA, interrogations, sex offender registration, special searches, and gaming machine litigation.  Before the Attorney General's Office, Adam was a litigator at The Finney Law Firm, Inc.  Adam graduated from The Citadel and obtained his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.  

Anna Rushton is the Securities Outreach Program Coordinator with the Securities Division of the South Carolina Attorney General's Office. Since joining the office in April of 2015, Anna has conducted a variety of investor education events for senior groups, law enforcement, military personnel, and business associations.  Anna also serves as Vice-Chair of the Senior Outreach Committee for the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) which helps develop programs to help protect seniors in the US and Canada.  A graduate of Wofford College, Anna earned her BA in Government.

David Kershaw is a 2011 Graduate of South Carolina State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing.  While at South Carolina State University, David was an active member of the Honors Program which transitioned to the Honors College during his tenure at the University.  In May of 2015, David received a Juris Doctor and a Certification in Children’s Law from the University of South Carolina.  At the time of graduation, David was awarded the Compleat Lawyer Award, one of the highest achievable honors for a South Carolina lawyer.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                After law school, David served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Amy McCulloch, Richland Probate Judge, and as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Helen Burris, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of South Carolina.  Following his clerkships, David worked as an Associate at Turner Padget Graham & Laney, P.A., a regional law firm based in South Carolina, and then at Fox Rothschild, LLP, a national law firm based in Pennsylvania.  While working in private practice, David focused on creditor’s rights matters including bankruptcy administration and litigation, probate litigation, financial services and civil litigation.                                  

Frederick W. "Freddy" Faircloth, IV is the owner and attorney at The Faircloth Law Firm, LLC, a boutique estate planning law firm based in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  He focuses his practice in the areas of estate and wealth transfer planning, probate, estate and trust administration, business succession planning and taxation.   

A Rock Hill native, Freddy received a B.S. in Accounting from Clemson University in 2000.  He received a J.D. from the University of South Carolina in 2003, where he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review and a recipient of the Arthur B. Custy Tax Award.He received his Masters of Law (LL.M.) in Taxation from the University of Florida in 2004. 

Freddy was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2003 and the North Carolina Bar in 2005.  He is a South Carolina Supreme Court Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law and currently serves on the South Carolina Supreme Court Estate Planning and Probate Law Specialization Advisory Committee. 

Freddy is a frequent lecturer in the areas of estates and trusts.  In March 2020 he was elected as a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”), an organization of approximately 2,500 trust and estate lawyers and law professors from across the country who are elected by their peers in recognition of having made outstanding contributions to the practice of trust and estate law.

Judge Heather Galvin graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science where she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Delta Zeta Sorority. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University and is admitted to the practice of law in Ohio, South Carolina, and Washington D.C. Prior to moving to South Carolina; she worked for LexisNexis as an Applications Consultant and Senior Legal Research Associate. Upon relocating to South Carolina, Judge Galvin served as an Assistant Solicitor for the 14th Judicial Circuit. In 2007, she opened the Law Offices of Heather Galvin focusing on the areas of family and probate law. As part of her practice, she had the opportunity to serve as part-time Staff Attorney for the Beaufort County Probate Court; contract attorney for the Guardian ad litem programs in Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties in abuse and neglect proceedings involving children; and pro-bono Special Prosecutor in Beaufort County for animal cruelty cases.   In October of 2012, she was sworn in as full-time Associate Probate Judge for Beaufort County where she served until her election as Probate Judge in 2023.  She is the Second Vice President of the South Carolina Association of Probate Judges and a member of the Executive Committee of the National College of Probate Judges. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging, swimming, Pilates, and tennis.

The Honorable Jesse S. Cartrette, Jr. was born in Florence, South Carolina in 1979, the oldest of three sons born to Jesse Cartrette, Sr. and Gail Sturgeon Cartrette. After serving as Student Body President and receiving an academic letter jacket, he graduated double-cord from South Florence High School in 1998. The first member of his family to attend college, he was an honors student at Francis Marion University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in May of 2002. He was a member of the first graduating class of the Charleston School of Law (“Charleston Law”), where he was a founding member of the Christian Legal Society and served as one of the first class of justices seated on the law school’s student-led court formally known as the Honor Council.  Judge Cartrette was awarded The Civility Award, Charleston Law’s highest honor, by election of his peers, just before receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the Charleston School of Law in 2007.

After graduating from law school, he had the honor and privilege of serving as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Thomas A. Russo, Judge of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court of Common Pleas and General Sessions. Cartrette was then admitted to the South Carolina Bar in May of 2008 and formed his own private law practice in Florence, South Carolina in November of that same year. He was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for South Carolina in May of 2010.

Prior to his election in 2018, Judge Cartrette’s community involvement included serving as a proud member of the Florence County Bar championing and protecting the rights of underprivileged clients in our community including, but not limited to, senior citizens, abused and neglected children and vulnerable adults.  In his legal career, Judge Cartrette became an accomplished and respected attorney, mediator and guardian ad litem in the Probate, Circuit and Family Courts of Florence and the surrounding Pee Dee Area counties.  He has also served as an adjunct professor of business law for Limestone University.

Judge Cartrette has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Florence County Senior Citizens Association and as a member of the Florence Rotary Club.  He is also a Paul Harris Fellow.  Judge Cartrette enjoys spending time with his family and friends, He attends Compassion Church in Florence, South Carolina, and is passionate about helping those in need in our community and frequently participates in various community service projects, promoting charitable organizations and engaging in other philanthropic endeavors to benefit local artists; farmers; homeless and disadvantaged members of the community; disabled veterans; religious charities; children’s and high school sports teams including baseball, softball and basketball; and working on initiatives to foster community unity and understanding between people of diverse backgrounds and beliefs.  He was elected Florence County Probate Judge on November 6, 2018.

John Kittredge was born and raised in Greenville County. Justice Kittredge graduated from the University of South Carolina, summa cum laude. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Academic honors include Phi Beta Kappa, Order of the Coif, and Wig and Robe.  Justice Kittredge is the first person ever to serve on all South Carolina courts, which include the family court, the circuit court, the court of appeals, and currently the state supreme court.  Justice Kittredge and his wife, Lila, have three children and two grandchildren.  Through the years, Justice Kittredge has served on many boards and commissions, including Chair of the Chief Justice’s Commission on the Profession. 

Matt focuses his practice in the general areas of trusts, estates, probate, taxation, business entities, and nonprofits, including planning, administration, litigation, and transactions in each of these areas. He is a certified specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law, a member of the Columbia Estate Planning Counsel and the Columbia Tax Study Group, and the author of "The South Carolina Personal Representative Handbook,” as published by the South Carolina Bar.

In law school, Matt served as an editor for the Real Property Probate and Trust Journal, before going on to obtain an advanced degree in taxation from the University of Florida.  Prior to law school, Matt studied economics at the University of South Carolina Honors College and subsequently worked in the banking industry for several years as a commercial loan officer and credit analyst.

Philip S. Porter graduated from Clemson University in 1975 and from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1979. He was employed by the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs as a staff attorney, eventually serving as Deputy for Regulatory Enforcement, and as the Department’s Administrator and the State’s Consumer Advocate from the mid-1990s until 2002. He was in private practice from 2002 until 2007. From 2007 until March 2021 he served as Deputy General Counsel of the SCDMV where he handled, among other matters, driver license, dealer license and fuel tax matters in the Office of Motor Vehicle Hearings, Administrative Law Court, Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. In addition to the S.C. Bar, he is admitted to the Bars of the District of South Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.   

Randy Skinner is a bankruptcy attorney in Greenville, S.C. He received his B.S. (Business Administration), M.B.A., and J.D. from the University of South Carolina.

Since being admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1991, Mr. Skinner has become a statewide leader in the bankruptcy field, with numerous accolades and appointments, including U.S. Bankruptcy Court Chapter 7 Panel Trustee, 2002-2019; Certified Specialist in Bankruptcy Law by the South Carolina Supreme Court; Past chairman of the Bankruptcy and Debtor-Creditor Law Specialization Advisory Board; named to Best Lawyers in America; named to South Carolina Super Lawyers; and named South Carolina Legal Elite by Greenville Business Magazine and Columbia Business Monthly.

Mr. Skinner is a member of the South Carolina Bar, South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, National Consumer Bankruptcy Law Association, past chairman of the Law Related Education Committee of the South Carolina Bar and past recipient of Pro Bono Small Law Firm of the Year by the South Carolina Bar.

Tiffany Provence formed PMC Law Firm after more than 10 years as Dorchester County Probate Judge. Provence is a graduate of the University of Florida and University of South Carolina School of Law. Provence also holds dual certifications as both a Civil and Family Court mediator and is currently the SC Bar’s trainer for the 40-hour mediation certification course.  

Provence has served as President and Legal Counsel for Dorchester Paws (formerly Francis R. Willis SPCA), Secretary for the Dorchester County Bar, Advisory Counsel to the South Carolina Supreme Court, and a member of the Executive Committee for the South Carolina Association of Probate Judges. She is also currently serving as the Dorchester County Drug Court Judge and was formerly a professor at both the Charleston School of Law and Trident Technical College. Her classes and lecture topics include Probate, Wills & Trusts, Legal Ethics, Fiduciary Administration, and Mediation & Negotiation.

In her community, Provence currently serves on the Advisory Board for SunTrust Bank and the Endowment Board for Dorchester Paws. She has also offered her time and talents to numerous organizations including the Board of Director's for Palmetto Scholar's Academy Charter School, Board of Directors for Sculpture in the South, Board of Directors for Children's Trust of South Carolina, Habitat for Humanity and local organizations supporting youth athletics. Tiffany was raised in Summerville, SC but currently lives with her husband and children in Daniel Island.
